"The first wealth is health"
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
Why is nutrition important?
Whether you want to prevent or manage disease, change body composition, balance hormones or increase sport performance, the right nutrition and lifestyle changes can help. Nutrition is the foundation for reaching a healthy mind and body as it is connected to every single process in the body! Our metabolic, circulatory, lymphatic, nervous, endocrine, and digestive systems are highly influenced by what we eat and drink. This means, you have a lot of power over their functioning.
Every time you eat or drink you are either feeding disease or fighting it.
Focusing on modifiable lifestyle factors such as stress management, daily nutrition and activity levels can greatly improve sleep, increase energy, boost mood, improve mental health, and encourage reaching a state of optimal wellness.
What is a nutrition consultation like?
Nutrition consultations are comprehensive and focused on creating an actionable and sustainable plan for you to reach your highest health potential. After a session is booked, you will fill out a comprehensive nutrition questionnaire which will be sent via a secure platform. During the consultation, nutrition gaps, symptoms, and previous lab work (if applicable) will be assessed. Depending on the patient, other tests may be recommended which can include gut health assessments, hormone testing, or individual labs such as Vitamin D, iron, B12, and thyroid or lipid panels. You will be met where you are on your wellness journey and provided a full plan of action, which will be sent to you after the session. Typically, follow ups are scheduled 1-2 weeks later to provide accountability, answer questions and discuss progress and any struggles. Further recommendations will be made accordingly, with a goal to provide continued support on reaching your health goals.
